Coxleigh Barton is a 400 acre farm estate situated on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. Historically, Coxleigh Barton was a dairy farm with a quality herd of 150 dairy cows. In 1989 the dairy herd was sold, and the farm changed to farm sheep, beef cattle and arable crops. However, the downturn in demand for local produce with increased imports resulted in traditional farming becoming unviable, and Coxleigh undergoing diversification. Yard Holdings was a business created to undertake that diversification and transform Coxleigh Barton into the successful business enterprise that it is today.
Traditional stone barns, originally used to house cattle, have been converted into high quality office suites which are proving popular with local businesses looking to improve the quality of the work/life balance.
There are also holiday cottages which have been newly converted for the 2009 season to high specifications. The cottages are beautifully furnished with private gardens and hot tub. The farm now incorporates lakes, paddocks and the freedom of the 130 acres of managed woodland with 9km of tracks ideal for walking and riding. There are beautiful far ranging country views which can be enjoyed from the surrounding grounds, yet only 10 minutes drive to the market town amenities of Barnstaple including, historic pannier market, shopping centre, good choice of pubs and restaurants, leisure centre and cinema.
Coxleigh Barton is ideal for those wishing to explore Exmoor by foot, car or horseback with riding stables and ménage closeby, and the sandy surfing beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde within 20mins drive.
